That night
We were standing
Under the streetlight
When he said

You know,
Maybe the edges of
This halo
Mark the end of the world
And if we leave it
We will step
Into an abyss.

And I said
That is
The most ridiculous
Thing I ever heard

Even though
I knew that
It was not.
